Behind Closed Doors is a relatively new bar/nightclub located on Main Street in Downtown Houston; it’s essentially three bars in one.

The main bar area provides vodka and tequila based cocktails, whereas behind a closed door on the same floor, you can find a ‘Gold Room’ bar that offers cognac drinks, and a ‘Red Room’ on the third floor that transforms into a dance club after 10 P.M.

Not only does each room provide different drink options, but they also have significantly differing layouts and themes. The main bar area is decorated to look futuristic, and has neon lights lining the walls. The ‘Gold Room’ presents itself as a retro cocktail bar. And, finally, the ‘Red Room’ is an open space with a dj booth, bar, and large dance floor.

In February, I had the opportunity of visiting Behind Closed Doors for a first, and second, time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their drinks were great, albeit a bit pricey, especially compared to other Houston bars in the area.

Whether you live in Houston, or traveling to the city, Behind Closed Doors is worth checking out.
