What I Ate In Rome

In 2022, I had the opportunity of visiting the Eternal City, and spent much of the time indulging in food options ranging from pasta, to sushi, and more. Rome’s culinary scene was a dream come true, and far exceeded my expectations.

This may come as a surprise to some, but Rome being a large, international city, and with it previously being an empire that ruled areas not only in Europe, but also parts of Africa and the Middle East, the city is a culinary paradise.

My favorite restaurant that I tried in Rome was Ristorante del Passeggero, a random one that I stumbled upon near the hotel I stayed in. I had a great experience there, and thoroughly enjoyed each dish that I tried, especially their carbonara. The staff was also attentive, friendly, and made our time there even better. Read more about my two visits to Ristorante del Passeggero here.

I also enjoyed having sushi from Opera Sushi, another restaurant close to my hotel. While there, we tried various rolls from them.

Throughout the rest of my nine day trip in Rome, I had other dishes that I thoroughly enjoyed like lamb ribs, linguine with clams, gelato for dessert, and more.

As far as food goes, I don’t think I’ve had this great of an experience in the other cities that I’ve traveled to. I could see myself going back to Rome, just for their culinary scene.
